Hello there, my name is Wen. I am a freelance photographer located in the east bay area California.
As an introvert, I grew up very shy and always felt intimidated to be photographed in front of a camera. Several years ago, my husband and I hired a photographer to take photos for our engagement and wedding. During the sessions, he made us (especially me) feel comfortable and fun. And I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how beautiful the photos turned out and how the most precious moments in our lives were forever captured in such an artistic way.
I always enjoy and practice many forms of art so I was naturally drawn to photography after seeing how powerful my wedding photographer could transform ordinary to extraordinary. Immediately, I bought a camera, started taking photography courses and learning post image processing using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Fast forward, I have been a professional photographer for many years now. I specialize in portrait photography (such as individual, couple, engagement & family, etc). I enjoy working with my clients and I tailor and customize each session toward their needs and wants. Having a family with two boys, I completely understand the patience needed to work with young children in family sessions. I give tips (such as warmups, snacks, breaks) to parents ahead of time to ensure everybody would have a pleasant time. I am also sensitive toward people who are camera shy (just like me). I will gently guide them through posing and make them feel empowered by the end of the session. After each session, I will spend many quality hours going through all the raw images and picking out the bests for an artistic elevation through post processing. Seeing how the end result makes my clients smile is the most satisfying feeling in the world.
